Place around 3 fans either side of the top lip with 10 linear threads per fan. The injection needs to be half way down the pink of the lip, just above the wet dry boarder, the injection depth superficial. Only half the needle length is needed as the fan is compact.
3 fans containing10 threads are then injected over the first layer of fans to layer the product.
We then place 6 fans along the bottom lip. The first fan starting in the center of the bottom lip on the vermillion boarder in a diagonal direction. Using the same injection point, repeat in the opposite direction
The next fan on the bottom lip starts in the pink of the lip above the first central fan.
Any tweaks needed can be made at this point. Remember there will be swelling so it is best to undertreat and get them back for a follow up.
TOP TIPS
Space each linear branch roughly 0.5mm apart. Injection points need to be just below the vermillion border, in the pink of the lip and they need to be placed closely together. Finish the treatment with a firm flat massage in the direction the filler sits. Bend the needle slightly to help execute a better drag when injecting.
A more dramatic enhancement only using up to 2ml Dermal Filler
Place around 3-4 fans either side of the top lip with 10 linear threads per fan. The injection needs to be under the vermillion boarder in the pink of the lip and the injection depth superficial.
4-6 fans containing10 threads are then injected in the bottom lip. The first fan starting in the center of the bottom lip on the vermillion boarder in a diagonal direction.
Finally a singular tent starting from the apex of the cupids bow is administered, a small bolus is made at the aped as the needle exits the skin.
Any tweaks needed can be made at this point. Remember there will be swelling so it is best to undertreat and get them back for a follow up.
TOP TIPS
Space each linear branch roughly 0.5mm apart. Injection points need to be just below the vermillion border, in the pink of the lip. Finish the treatment with a firm flat massage in the direction the filler sits. Bend the needle slightly to help execute a better drag when injecting.
A more subtle enhancement only using up to 1ml Dermal Filler
Place 3-4 fans either side of the top lip. Each fan should contain 5 threads. The injection should be made in the pink of the lip, below the vermillion boarder. Keep your injection depth superficial and never advance past the wet dry boarder. 0.5ml should be split over the fans on the top lip.
Next, 4-6 fans containing 5 threads in each are then placed in the bottom lip using the same technique.
Finally a singular thread is placed through the center of the bottom lip to further enhance the shape of the bottom lip.
Any tweaks that need to be made can happen at this point.
TOP TIPS
Space each linear branch roughly 0.5mm apart. Injection points need to be just below the vermillion border, in the pink of the lip. Finish the treatment with a firm flat massage in the direction the filler sits. Bend the needle slightly to help execute a better drag when injecting.
1. Balancing Central and Lateral Tubercles
Objective: To subtly blend the lateral tubercles into the M Shape central portion of the lip.
Technique: Fanning technique in the pink of the lip, to build volume and achieve a smooth, even appearance of the entire top lip.
2. Softening the Central Tubercle
Objective: Align the upper lip more naturally with the lower lip.
Technique: Tenting
3. Creating Continuity Across the Lip Line
Objective: Build a defined vermillion border
Technique: Fine linear thread along the vermillion border
4. Filling Gaps for Natural Closure
Objective: Prevent unwanted gaps that expose the teeth.
Technique: Micro fan injections above the central tubercle without losing the natural flow of the lip shape.
MICRODROPLETS
Administered along the vermillion border at 2mm distance from each other. This technique is great for sharpening edges & creating shape.
TENTING
The tenting technique forms the basis of many lip enhancements. It helps give a flatter transformation and maximise lip height. Tenting uses superficial placement and uses approximately 0.05ml of product per linear thread.
FANNING
The fanning technique forms the basis of Russian Lip enhancements. It helps give a flatter transformation and maximise lip height. Fanning requires superficial placement and uses approximately 0.2ml of product per fan.
CROSS HATCHING
The crosshatching technique uses a combination of tenting and linear threads to create volume within the lip. The placement for this technique is mid-depth and uses approxiamtely 0.2ml of product per cross hatch.
Place around 2 fans either side of the top lip with 10 linear threads per fan. The injection needs to be under the vermillion boarder in the pink of the lip and the injection depth superficial.
4 fans containing10 threads are then injected in the bottom lip. The first fan starting in the center of the bottom lip on the vermillion boarder in a diagonal direction. Using the same injection point, repeat in the opposite direction
The next fan on the bottom lip starts in the pink of the lip above the first central fan.
The purpose of this technique is to keep the volume central in both the top and bottom lip to build a heart shape appearance.
Elective dissolve constitution - 1500 units of hyaluronidase with 5ml Torbac. Emergency dissolve - 1500 unit of hyaluronidase with 2ml Torbac.
The diagram above shows the injection points for an elective dissolve where we are dissolving the whole lip.
Always patch test in the forearm 30 minuets before treatment to check the client is not allergic.
The markings outside the lip are if the client has migration, on average I use around 0.1-0.2ml per injection depending on the size of the lips and what product has been used in them.
In most cases I use a 2ml syringe and a 30G needle to administer the product.
Massage firmly after the product has been administered.
TOP TIPS
Space each injection point evenly across the area. Under treat and get back in for a follow up 2 weeks later if more dissolving is required. Hyaluronidase is aggressive and can affect the natural hyaluronic acid. Finish the treatment with a firm flat massage.
